As one of the UK’s largest independently-owned commercial vehicle workshop operators, our client supports its customer base across the eastern counties, providing a full support solution from 13 dealer points.
They are an established Scania dealer where the premium quality of the products they sell is reflected right the way through their business – providing a diverse level of aftersales support for all makes of HGV, passenger vehicles, vans and agricultural and industrial vehicles. They now have an exciting opportunity for a Workshop Manager to join their existing team at their Wellingborough branch. This role will be responsible for managing the overall workshop operation in an efficient and productive manner.
Main duties and responsibilities
Manage the workshop operation, ensuring there is a efficient flow of authorised work, and that relevant internal / customer documentation is completed in a timely manner
Strive to exceed depot key performance indicators at all times including; MOT First time pass rate, Workshop Productivity, CSI, Dealer Operating Standards, Financials
Lead and motivate staff
Build and develop customer relationships
Liaise with the parts department to ensure planned work is fully catered for
Obtain correct authority for repairs carried out
Ensure health and safety regulations and safe working practices are adhered to
Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness
Participate in and promote all Scania GB / TruckEast initiatives
Manage workshop administration processes
Ensure appropriate clocking’s are made and all job cards and service sheets are completed in a timely manner
Ability to work within guidelines and to strict deadlines main calm under pressure and seek solutions to problems
Team leadership ability: coaching, delegation, personal development
Excellent written, verbal and customer care skills
Flexibility to undertake a wide range of tasks
Awareness of health and safety requirements (H&S experience / qualifications would be an advantage)
Current driving licence, LGV/HGV would be an advantage
Technical qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ qualified technician) or proven experience repairing and maintaining vehicles
Knowledge of HGV and transport industry
