UI Developer / Engineer – Darlington (Home and 1 Day Office Based)

A leading global supplier of software systems for the safe management of hazardous goods in sea transport is seeking a Front End Developer to join the team. Our client have over 34 years’ experience supporting major shipping lines, distributors and warehouse operators, ports and terminals, government and regulatory organisations worldwide.

You will have a natural aptitude for front end development, with a technical ambition to solve real world problems whilst continually learning and developing your skills within a diverse, supportive team environment.
As a Front End Developer you’ll partner with developers, taking proof of concept models and turn them into production ready systems. You will be responsible for designing and building the client-side of the web applications to deliver rich, delightful experiences to our users.

With the company, you will:
Use TypeScript and Vue.js
Design, develop and maintain single page applications, libraries, and tools
Participate in the process of creating technical specifications
Mentor fellow developers, provide feedback, and continuously improve yourself
Take part in the research of new technologies and solutions
Work closely together with Backend developers
What you will learn (If you can already do it, even better):
Basic Backend skills
DevOps and Source control (Git)
Taking ideas from small prototypes through to full scale production systems
Creating prototypes with Sketch, Figma or similar tools
Frontend testing frameworks
Frontend build/deployment processes (Webpack, Babel, CI/CD)
