Trainee Lighting Conductor - Bristol
Salary: £20k - £23k + Benefits
Our client are a market leading FM company who have an exciting vacancy for an experienced Trainee Lighting Conductor to work alongside their existing Lightning Protection Installations team in the West Midlands/South West region. The company provide Lightning Protection, Electronic Surge Protection, Power Earthing and Specialist Access Services. They are also a UK market leader, highly successful business who have won many awards over years.
The purpose of this role is to assist in the installation of lightning protection and earthing on a variety of structures across all forms of private, public, industrial and commercial sectors.
Assist in the installation of lightning protection and earthing systems on a variety of tall structures such as high-rise offices and flats. This will involve working to pre-designed schemes including drawings, a risk assessment and method statement.
Support upgrades to existing lightning protection systems to specified instructions provided.
In order to work safely, scaffolding and work platforms, as well as other safety devices.
Assist in accurately completing Company paperwork including point of work risk assessment, job sheets, material schedules and timesheets and ensure this is returned to the office-based team
Support in providing on site communications and advice to either the client or Managers of a project, ensuring the Company is professionally represented at all times.
The applicant must be highly motivated and be physically fit/able and comfortable working at height, with the desire and motivation to work outdoors as part of a 2 man team.
Full Drivers Licence
Upon successful completion of the OSAT you will be receive an NVQ qualification which require training in the following:
Lightning Protection materials & components
Lightning Protection standards and working regulations
Safe use of hand tools
Safe use of Ladders
Application of fall restraint systems and full body harnesses
Working at Height awareness
Use of abrasive wheels
IPAF – Mobile Elevated Working Platform
PASMA – Scaffold tower erecting and dismantling
SSSTS – Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme
