Systems Engineer, Remote (Cloud/Linux/Python) - Remote/UK
£65k + bonus + stock options
My client, a digital start-up AI Software Builder is looking for a System Engineer to help us achieve and maintain maximum potential in areas of scale, automation, security, and fault tolerance for our core developer platform. This includes everything from multi-cloud application deployment to performance optimization, orchestration and continuity
The start-up specialises in building, maintaining and running bespoke software for their customers, making it faster, more accessible and less expensive for everyone to bring their ideas to life.
Last year they secured $29.5m of funding to scale our growth in Europe. They already have three offices in LA, Delhi, and London and recently hit 250 employees globally. A key focus for them this year is to significantly grow their London operation.
It is a challenging and diverse role that requires you to improve the existing developer platform, with a constant focus on making the experience better and more feature-packed. While trying to find solutions to problems, which are often overlooked or just too complicated for people to think about solving. Solid background in running Kubernetes in production at scale.
Good understanding of Kubernetes cluster internals and components.
Experience implementing service meshes.
Experience creating and maintaining Helm charts.
Excellent understanding of metrics, monitoring and alerting in a Kubernetes microservice environment.
Experience implementing CI/CD workflows in container-based environments.
Hands-on experience in all facets of automation and systems architecture, with a particular focus on Linux and open-source technologies
Very experienced with a general-purpose programming language - python
Matured views on continuous delivery, automation, testing, and the development processes in general.
Well versed and experienced with open source tools commonly used to buildcontinuous integration/delivery solutions, such as Git, Maven, Gradle, GitLab, and Sonar
Experience with software engineering best practices: unit testing, code reviews, design documentation, excellent debugging, troubleshooting skills
