SOLIDWORKS Design Engineer – Adlington, Cheshire

Salary: £25,000 per annum

The Company

Our client is one of the UK’s leading street furniture manufacturers, supplying high quality and functional outdoor environments efficiently and hassle-free, primarily to the construction industry. They offer a unique take on external spaces from playgrounds to public realm through four brands.

The Role

You will report directly to the Senior Design Engineer, with a link to the Operations Director.

Role Responsibilities:

As part of your role, you are expected to:

• Help develop the CAD/Design department in process efficiency, first time drawing accuracy, priority scheduling, best practice development and continuous improvement.
• Ensure an efficient flow of work is maintained within the design team
• Support the sales teams in the creation of general arrangement (GA) drawings required during the quotation and order validation process.
• Support the operations team in the creation of detailed and accurate manufacturing drawings
• Assist in the creation of marketing material

Essential Skills & Requirements:

Excellent communicator, you are required to have sound knowledge of SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD (specifically weldments, sheet metal and drawings) and be able to develop an idea from a customer’s sketch through to an appropriate and manufacturing product.

Experienced in a low-batch and high-variation manufacturing environment, your commercial awareness and solid understanding of the cost implications of design decisions are exceptional.
