Snr Project Manager, Remote (Data/Digital) – London
£70k (12 month FTC)
My client, an award-winning Publishing House is looking for a confident Senior Project Manager for their Content Tagging/Management team. This is a 12 month FTC with the possibility to go perm if you want to stay on. You must be based in the UK with a valid passport/visa
The Publishing House is one of the largest commercial publisher and digital platforms in the UK and is home to the UK and Ireland’s most iconic digital platforms, magazines and newspapers. Last year they sold millions of newspapers, with millions of readers for just one of their brands each month. Their network of websites is extensive and provide 24/7 coverage of news, sport and showbiz stories, with billions of page views per year.Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Data, the Senior Project Manager will lead the project management activities for the greenfield project to create, launch and manage a new product for Content Tagging to serve all the content and systems across the whole business.
Publishing House uses a variety of content types, some of which include: news article stories, photo stories, videos, live blogs, etc. The new Content Tagging platform will house the creation and management of controlled taxonomies for tagging content as master data management for all their content.
You will assist and support the Senior Product Manager to realise the Product Strategy and roadmap to meet the core business objectives for a unified Content Tagging strategy across the business.
Create and manage project plans, specifications, documentation, release plans as well other related key deliverables to enable project success (meet deadlines and remain in budget).
Monitor and communicate project progress to the Senior Product Manager, Head of Data, Senior Leadership Team and development team, including use of project status reports and tracking tools/metrics to enable streamline project activities and delivery.
Some additional responsibilities
Plan and coordinate workshops for Product Discovery and user requirements gathering.
Arrange liaisons and workshops across all project activities.
Plan, manage and request resources for the project as it progresses.
You will be the point of contact and support for all business stakeholders, users and the development team.
Ensure dependencies are addressed to mitigate any potential blocks and risks.
Identify and document any risks and constraints, making them visible in an appropriate manner to mitigate as quickly as possible.
Coordinate user acceptance testing, Beta, Launch and delivery of the Content Tagging platform.
Ensure relevant new processes are rolled out and training provided for processes.
Facilitate platform and process user training across the business and ensure relevant documentation provided.
The Ideal Candidate
7+ years in data/digital Project Management, ideally including roles in media companies or technology companies.
Ability to work effectively remotely and resourceful, with excellent remote management and communication skills.
Track record of taking data projects from concept to user-facing launch.
You have good experience in methodologies including: Agile Scrum/Kanban, lean and waterfall.
Advanced technical (data) and business knowledge in software development life cycle, change management and quality assurance.
Familiar with at least one of the following areas: Content Tagging and metadata, Taxonomy / Ontology classifications, content management systems.
Experience working with data, data teams and wide breadth of user groups, ranging from editorial to commercial dealing with B2B partnerships.
A self-starter with a can-do, will-do attitude.
Confident at managing multiple stakeholders and delivery dates simultaneously.
