Senior Developer – Remote Working or Stockton on Tees

Salary – £40k - £50k + Pension + Life Ins + Health care + Mobile Phone

The Client

Our client is a highly successful IT solution provider Head Quartered in the North East supporting businesses across the UK. With 7 offices and 100+ staff they offer clients a genuine 24/7 support service through their own internal service desk, implementation team, software developers and cabling engineers.

The Role

To build bespoke software, as well as modifying software to fix errors, adapt it to new hardware, improve its performance, or upgrade interfaces. Involved in directing system testing and validation procedures and working with clients or departments on maintenance of existing systems.

Key Responsibilities

Development (40%)

Establish a detailed project specification through discussion with clients.

Modifying existing software to fix errors, adapt it to new hardware, improve its performance, or upgrade interfaces.

Directing system testing and validation procedures.

Directing software programming and technical documentation.

Design and implement system architecture

Oversight of testing

Working with management and technical experts to assess and assure security of developed applications

Learning and development / keeping up to date with new technologies, feeding this back to management

Outline and review technical documentation

Plan and oversee release strategy based on individual client needs and requirements

Project Management (40%)

Working with management to assist scoping of projects

Identifies user requirements within project

Delegating tasks to other members of the team to ensure project deadlines are met

Report on project specifications, activities, and status.

Accountable for the administrative duties of the project management

Effectively recording time spent on tasks

Ensuring team members are accurately reporting on time usage

Client point of contact following project completion

Client Support (20%)

Ensure the Client is supported in line with the company customer charter

Working closely with client, while setting realistic expectations

Acts as point of escalation for high complexity support cases

Responsible for driving all cases towards resolution


Bachelor's degree in computer science or related degree.

Experience working on a variety of software development projects.

Experiencing working on multiple projects simultaneously

Ability to plan and develop unit testing for individual code components or complete applications.

Strong understanding of server config and system admin

Knowledge of the software development life-cycle.

Deep programming language knowledge, c# .NET, Web API, SQL, Vue.js
