Residential Support Worker

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Residential Support Worker with experience of working with children and young people to join a well-established organisation, providing residential care for young people. This full-time role offers excellent benefits and a salary range of £22,000-£27,000.

As a Residential Support Worker, you will be assisting young people in developing essential life skills, such as budgeting, cooking, and personal care.

You will be responsible for:

• Managing household tasks and ensuring a high standard of cleanliness.
• Supporting social and recreational activities both within and outside the home.
• Encouraging independence while providing emotional and practical support.
• Attending meetings and reviews to contribute to care planning.
• Creating a safe, nurturing, and structured living environment.
• Working collaboratively with professionals and external agencies.
• Taking responsibility for the service in the absence of senior staff.

What we are looking for:

• Previous experience working as a Residential Support Worker, Support Worker, Childcare Worker, Care Worker, Care Assistant or in a similar role.
• Experience of working with children and young people.
• Knowledge of the principles of safeguarding and Child Protection legislation.
• Familiarity with child abuse/child protection issues.
• Ideally hold NVQ Level 3 or above qualification in Social Care/Social Work or equivalent or willingness to work towards it.
• Enhanced DBS check.
