Practice Accountant (Senior / Semi Senior) - Leicestershire

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum

Location: Leicester

12-month contract with potential for permanent placement.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior / Semi Senior Practice Accountant with 3 years’ experience to join a well-established accountancy firm. In this role, you will be preparing statutory accounts in compliance with FRS 102 and FRS 105 and providing financial analysis and client support.

You will be responsible for:

• Handle day-to-day bookkeeping for a diverse client base.
• Oversee and process payroll, ensuring adherence to HMRC regulations.
• Review and guide junior staff to maintain high work standards.
• Prepare and submit accurate VAT returns.
• Assist in preparing personal and corporate tax returns.
• Serve as a client contact for accounting and tax-related queries.

What we are Looking For:

• Previously worked as an Accountant or in a similar role.
• At least 3 years of experience in accountancy firm.
• Qualified or part-qualified ACCA/ACA or equivalent.
• Knowledge of FRS 102 and FRS 105 standards.
• Experience in bookkeeping, payroll, VAT returns, and tax compliance.
• Skilled in using Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, and Excel.
