HGV Fitter

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HGV Fitter to join an independent family-owned business, offering services from plant hire to agricultural contracting. This role offers excellent benefits and a salary of £19 per hour for 45 hours per week plus overtime opportunity.

As an HGV Fitter, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of a fleet of HGV vehicles, ensuring they meet required safety and serviceability standards.

You will be responsible for:

• Attend breakdowns and service vehicles on-site or at various locations as required.
• Manage parts stock, liaising with management for replenishment when necessary.
• Identify and report any misuse of vehicles.
• Stay updated with technological advances and provide training or guidance to others where appropriate.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant workshop environment.

What we are looking for:

• Previously worked as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, HGV Fitter, Plant Fitter or in a similar role.
• Experience in vehicle inspection and repair, with strong fault diagnosis skills.
• Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Physically fit and active.
• Valid UK driving licence.
• Ideally hold HGV Class 1 & 2 qualifications.
