Business Development Manager - Stockport

Salary – £35k - £45k + 25days holidays + Uncapped Bonus + Pension + Flexible Working Hours

The Client

Our client is a multi-disciplined engineering consultancy and software channel partner, specialising in engineering simulation, technical safety and reliability engineering, with around 40 staff.  To accelerate their growth in engineering simulation services, they are seeking a new Business Development Manager to focus on this area, while also identifying new opportunities for software.

The Role

You will join an established team of commercial and technical staff. Reporting to the Sales & Marketing Director, your main focus will be sales of the companies engineering services related to a variety of the market leading engineering simulation software.  The opportunity for sales of consultancy services to support the growth in demand for engineering simulation by both existing and new clients is significant.

An understanding of the application of engineering simulation to structural mechanics, fluid mechanics, electromagnetics and systems modelling.

Experience of and proven success applying consultative sales methodologies

Previous B2B sales experience selling to blue chip companies and SMEs.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present solutions clearly and convincingly to both large and small, technical and non-specialist, audiences at a senior level.

Self-motivation and the drive to surpass sales targets.

Good team-player who can work effectively with commercial and technical colleagues.

Desirable Skills

Qualification to degree or HND or equivalent level in an engineering or related subject. As the company is involved in many technical disciplines, candidates will be considered across the entire engineering spectrum.

Experience in the use of ANSYS or similar engineering simulation software.

The company is located in Stockport, however in response to the Covid-19 situation all employees are currently working remotely from home.  This role involves working from home or from one of their regional offices when Covid-19 permits.  The company continue to follow government advice regarding working from home. They offer a 37-hour working week, Monday to Friday, 25 days, plus 8 statutory, paid holidays per year, competitive base salary, plus uncapped performance-related commission, pension scheme and flexi-time working.
