The Client:
Our client, a pioneer in technical documentation and data management for over five decades, serves government and industry clients across the UK and Europe. They excel in technical writing, translation, illustration, and logistics support services, alongside bureau scanning solutions.
The Role
They are looking for a BID Writer for their Bid Management Function who will craft compelling bids and proposals, ensuring alignment with company governance. This role offers hybrid working, combining remote tasks with occasional office and customer site visits.
Responsibilities:
- Create high-quality bid content to secure winning tender responses, focusing on bids and supporting junior bid writers in proposals.
- Implement bids/proposals in line with governance requirements, ensuring adherence to Delegation of Authority (DOA) approvals and financial considerations.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of business-winning processes, tailored for Major Bids and Proposals.
- Assist in bid/capture plans, supporting smooth bid/proposal management and timely gate reviews.
- Collaborate with various functions to meet individual bid requirements, liaising with Heads of Capabilities, Commercial, Finance, HR, and the Senior Leadership Team.
- Maintain accurate Bid/Proposal data within the CRM system, aiding Bid Manager in pipeline reporting.
- Travel as needed for key bid reviews and team/customer meetings.
Requirements:
- Previously worked as a Bid Writer or in a similar role.
- Prior Bid Writing experience in military/defence and aerospace industry (beneficial)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to travel as per business requirements.
- Bachelor’s Degree (desirable).
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify errors and omissions.
- Existing right to live and work in the UK.
- Internal BPSS check and willingness to undergo Security Clearance (SC level) upon employment.
