The Role:
As an Associate Solicitor, you will play a pivotal role in managing high-value development cases, supporting fellow fee earners, optimising firm operations, and actively cultivating income streams to expand the department.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Head of Department in managing departmental operations.
- Drafting and sending letters and managing billing processes.
- Creating precedents, template documents, and streamlining department processes.
- Regularly producing articles on residential property issues for the firm's website.
- Ensure compliance with quality and professional standards.
- Proactively develop potential income streams for the department.
- Promoting the firm and its services through marketing initiatives.
- Conducting research on emerging legal areas and procedures to stay informed on key issues.
- Fulfil Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements.
- Handling general administrative tasks for individual file management.
- Visiting clients and gathering instructions.
Requirements:
- Previously worked as a Property Solicitor, Associate Solicitor or in a similar role.
- 5+ years post-qualification experience, specifically with local and / or regional developer clients.
- Proven business development experience, including networking and targeted marketing.
- Expertise in residential and high-value property matters.
- Familiarity with S106, S38, S278 Agreements, development finance, and plot sale setups.
- Proficiency in commercial property matters, including leases and licenses.
- Ability to manage own caseload and supervise junior fee earners.
- In-depth knowledge of the SRA Code of Conduct and Accounts Rules.
- Excellent administration, typing, interviewing, and communication skills.
- Skilled in staff supervision, client interaction and bill preparation.
